Butler Obliterates FY Series Record
Four-Year-Old Mark Shattered With 764

South Glens Falls - Floyd Butler fired an amazing 764 set Thursday afternoon in the Forever Young league on games of 245, 268 and 251. That performance handily passed the previous mark of 725 set in 2010 by Don Williams.
Floyd's super effort led Fire And Ice to a sweep of Leftover and pushed him into second place in league average with 203.
The Wombats beat Kay + Dick 3-1 to take over first place in the standings after five weeks of play. Gary Sampson had 219-576 to out-duel Dick Kenneally (212-570) at the anchor position.
Former first-placers Twisted Sisters lost 3-1 to The Singers as Joe Sycuro blasted 208-547 for the winners.
Lost in the glow of Butler's record were 600 sets from three bowlers - Ray Davignon shot 642 on games of 226, 211 and 205 in the loss to Fire And Ice; John Urban flirted with perfection (246) in the middle of his 612, which he concluded with 202; and Don Williams, who began with 235 and fell off to finish exactly at the 600 mark. His average dropped to 208 as a result. Roy Brady (202-213) and Mark Basso (204) had 562 sets in the Tomahawks-Yanks match, won by the Tommies 3-1.
