South Glens Falls - What a difference fifteen hours make. Roy Brady recovered from an absolutely horrendous showing Wednesday night in the Show Me The Money league, firing a ten-strike opening 260 game Thursday afternoon to lead the Tomahawks to a 4-0 sweep of The Singers and pull within two points of the pace-setting Wombats in the Forever Young league at Kingpin's Alley. Roy added 188 and 200 to finish at 648. He received minimal help from teammate Don Williams, who limped to 590 (173-191-226).
The Wombats were hammered in the first game by Fire And Ice (128 pins compliments of Floyd Butler's 247) but snapped back to take the middle game by 129 - thanks to Gary Sampson's 231. The folks from Down Under won the deciding game by 14 for the hard-earned 3-1 victory. Butler finished with 606.
Dick Kenneally shot 641 (192-246-203) as Kay + Dick beat the Yanks 3-1 to pull even at 24-24 on the year. Tony Plicofsky filled in again for vacationing Cathy Tracy and came oh-so-close with 226-182-191 for 599.
Three weeks are left in the season and only The Singers and Ups And Downs have been eliminated from contention.
Next week's premier matchups are Wombats vs. Yanks, Tomahawks vs. Kay + Dick and Twisted Sister vs. the Over The Hill Gang.
Williams is atop the average leaderboard at 205, with Kenneally at 203 and Brady at an even 200.
