South Glens Falls - Team 10, appropriately called 10, beat Fire And Ice 3-1 Thursday to take over sole possession of first place in the Forever Young league at Kingpin's Alley. Gary Sampson overcame a pitiful start to shoot 213 and 218 over his last two games for 546. Floyd Butler had 199-221-167 for 587 in a losing cause.
The Over The Hill Gang (consisting of only John Urban for a second straight week) held the Tomahawks to a 2-2 draw. Urban fired 210-170-236 for 616. Tommie anchor Don Williams paced the league with a splendid 206-214-278 effort for 698, while Roy Brady added 204-226-576.
Twisted Sisters split with the Yanks. Mark Basso had 199-203-546. In a day of close matches, Kay + Dick went 2-2 with the Marauders. Dick Kenneally pre-bowled his way to 168-204-231 and 603.
The Last Two were absent, but Leftover stars Rod LaChapelle and Ray Davignon were unable to secure even a single point in that match. The Singers walloped Ferris 4-0 behind Joe Sycuro's outstanding 608 series on games of 181, 211 and 216.
The league average is now 166.
